Our History

Establishment

On the 24th of May 2020, the simulationist micronation of the Republic of New Saigon was founded by President Andrew Le in the dedication of the former capital of South Vietnam, Saigon, present-day Ho Chi Minh City.

The Republic of New Saigon has territorial claims on the Con Dao, Tho Chu, and Hon Khoai islands in southern Vietnam as well as the southeastern block of the city of Wichita, KS, which is the capital of the Republic.

Government

New Saigon, or formally the Republic of New Saigon hails to be a constitutional republic with three branches of governance, which include the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches. Within the republic, there are 4 political parties and they consist of:

Shane Sucks, Like Very Bad Party,

Socialist Unity Party,

Conservatives United Party,

and the Libertarian Front Party.

Modern History

As of the 3rd of July 2020, The Republic of New Saigon is recognized by the Kosnian Democratic Republic of Forwardist Republic of Eastasia.​

On the 3rd of July 2020, the micronation adopted a new anthem in dedication to South Vietnam, "Call to the Republic!"
